Fishing
Report
The clean water of the Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay offer an
abundance of fish. Deep Sea Fishing and charter boat fleets are
available from every resort town. Charter groups are available
for half or full day charters and night trips too.

Charter Boats sailing out of South Jersey Marina are having very
good results with inshore fishing; Bluefish, Croaker, Weakfish,
Kingfish and Flounder continue to top the frequently caught
list.
On the other hand, offshore trips are even more successful; the
blue waters of our canyons are really heating up. Ten offshore
trips were run this week and every one had a nice catch of
Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna and Dolphin.

The inshore fishing at South Jersey Marina continues to be
dominated by the run of Bluefish being caught near the reef. All the
charter boats that target these fish come home with a full box. The
Fluke, Kingfish, Weakfish and Croakers have also made an appearance
in the Delaware Bay.
The offshore fishing has really improved this week. Both Blue and
White Marlin have been released in our canyons, notably the Spencer
Canyon. We also weighed a 148 pound Big Eye Tuna that was caught in
the Spencer.
This is about the mid-way point in our season and the fishing is
bound to improve as we get into August and September. To experience
the excitement of salt water sport fishing, merely call 609-884-3800
and reserve a Charter Boat from the uniquely, well qualified
Murderer's Row Fleet. Whether it is inshore or offshore, there's a
treat in store for all anglers, young and old.

South Jersey Marina held a very successful Mid-Atlantic Tuna
Tournament during this past week. Forty four boats competed and all
26 winning categories were filled for a total payout of $195,965.
Top honors was a 202 pound Bluefin Tuna. The second heaviest fish
winner was a 188 pound Bluefin. The two heaviest Yellowfin Tuna
weighed 88 and 72 pounds. All of the details of the winners and
hundreds of pictures can be seen on our
website.
Our Charter Fleet continues to limit out on every trip with the
school of Bluefish near our reef. We also saw flags indicating
Marlin being released in our Canyons this week. The water temp. out
there is as warm as it has been all year and that signals Marlin,
Tuna, Wahoo and Dolphin. So we now have it all; a great offshore
fishery and our ever popular inshore Bluefish action.
Our Charter Fleet is ready to fish…call 609-884-3800 for
reservations.
